
When difficulties arise that feel overwhelming to you and guidance is needed to restore balance with your body and mind, your intimate relationships, and yourself, my way of healing creates a safe atmosphere to make introspection easier. I listen with concern, guide you away from directions that repeatedly cause difficulties, and provide knowledge and support as you try out new changes. These changes are developed through a combination of suggestions from me and from the healing strengths that you discover within yourself.
The successful use of counseling as a healing method begins with making a fundamental decision. A decision to, for example, be kinder to yourself and to others; to exercise more regularly; to better understand your depressive moods; or to fly when it has previously brought you significant anxiety. This decision also involves a commitment to receive help for the problem or life situation that you desire to improve.
I have developed an eclectic style of helping someone who comes to me for counseling. I combine the development of a trusting relationship with a cognitive approach to dealing with issues. The specific skills I suggest will be discussed with you.
